Bubbledogs &...

After much anticipation of Bubbledogs hot dog and champagne bar opening last year by acclaimed Chef James Knappett and his partner Sandia Chang. Mr D and I decided to try the '&' part of the restaurant title. As it says on the website the '&' is a kitchen table 'tucked away behind Bubbledogs'. I was early so therefore decided to take a seat at the bar within the main restaurant and start with a glass of their Pink Champagne whilst I wait.

Mr D arrived and we were shown to our seats. 'The Kitchen Table' is through a curtain at the back of the bustling restaurant and a large 19 seater 'U' shaped table surrounds the kitchen where Chef and his two Sous greet you working on your starter. Sandia acts as GM and makes you feel perfectly at home and starting us off with the wine list and some of her suggestions - we decided to match our wines through the meal. Chef Knappett talks to you throughout your meal which gives a great sense that he really does want to get to know his clients. On our visit there were several 'regulars' whom seemed to have preferred seats, however I would highly recommend the first two seats nearest the action as shown below as you get to see everything and chat freely with the staff...

I believe the menu changes regularly depending on what is available and in season and therefore I will post the pictures and not go into too much detail. Of all the places we ate at in 2012 this is the one where we find ourselves constantly comparing all others too. It really was fantastic and such a treat. The courses are described simply on the menu as I copy in full below leaving Chef to change ingredients daily/weekly depending on what is available...

Raw Shrimp

Pig

Lobster

Truffle

Pasta

Pheasant

Venison

The most amazing venison 'cottage pie' we have ever eaten

Burrata

Rhubarb

Bakewell tart

Fulham picked Blackberries - who knew Fulham was a decent place to forage for food!!

The Venison for Mr D was his 'ultimate dish' of the evening for me it was the lobster however even getting it down to our favourites was tricky as every dish was as memorable as the last.

We are yet to try 'Bubbledogs' however after the success of the Kitchen table I am hopeful we will be going soon...
